The Opportunity at a Glance


We are partnering with a well-established accounting firm in Australia that specializes in providing tax and advisory services to businesses, individuals, and trusts. With a strong reputation in the industry, this firm is known for delivering expert financial guidance, tax compliance, and business structuring solutions. As part of their growing team, they are seeking an Intermediate Accountant with at least 2 years of Australian accounting experience, particularly in preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies. Experience with Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF) will be an advantage.


This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in financial reconciliations, taxation compliance, and general ledger management. The successful candidate must be proficient in Xero, possess a strong understanding of Australian tax laws, and demonstrate high productivity and efficiency


How You’ll Make an Impact


In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial communications while supporting the firm's broader digital presence. Your contributions will include:

  • Preparing and lodging Australian tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies.
  • Reconciling hire purchase loans and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS) in line with Australian GST rules.
  • Performing year-end reconciliations for GST, PAYG Withholding, and PAYG Income Tax Instalments.
  • Conducting thorough scrutiny of the general ledger to ensure precise tax coding and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Applying your expertise in Capital Gains Tax and Division 7A to deliver high-quality, compliant financial reports.
  • Maintaining productivity and efficiency under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


What We’re Looking For – You’re the Perfect Fit if You:


  • You have a minimum of 3 years of Australian accounting experience, particularly in tax preparation and compliance.
  • You are proficient in Xero and possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
  • You have a strong understanding of Australian tax laws covering BAS, GST, PAYG, CGT, and Division 7A.
  • You are detail-oriented, analytical, and excel at reconciling financial accounts with precision.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, remote work environment and can manage priorities under tight deadlines.
