Purpose of Role:

In support of the SAP Build Manager, this role ensures the consistent implementation of SAP application development and configuration standards across both DDCs. By ensuring quality at the front end of the process, this facilitates efficient, effective and consistent Release and Deployment for all types of Release. The role helps ensure that Continuous Improvement CRs and Defect CRs achieve their objectives first time, on time, every time. The location ensures that Build Management capabilities are available in both DDC time zones.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Communicate and implement Platform application Development and Configuration standards, identifying opportunities for improvement as applicable, using ATC, Code Inspector, Solution Manager ChaRM and other tools as appropriate.
• Provide process assurance at the time of Release, and compliance with best practices and quality of developments for all DDC consultants and third parties involved in projects and CICRs.
• Review transport request lists provided by the different projects, evaluating DGP warnings and providing guidance as required, ensuring that environments remain aligned through consistent version control.
• Support the DDC Build Manager and the DDC Release and Deployment Manager with QA checks and validations for Major Releases, ensuring that quality and process standards are being met, the latter in line with external audit requirements. Work with Project Management and Build Management to facilitate successful Major Release CAB processes.
• Track and support the transport Retrofit processes across the different Inchcape SAP landscapes
• Perform a periodic audit of QA Checklists in tickets, identifying shortcomings and ensuring that the corrections required are made. Where significant and/or consistent failings are identified, escalate accordingly.
• Perform a periodic audit of Configuration against Inchcape standards, identifying shortcomings and ensuring that the corrections required are made. Where significant and/or consistent failings are identified, escalate accordingly. Provide training or mentoring as appropriate, be that at individual or team level.
• Ensure correct implementation of the Transport of Copies (ToC) methodology, providing guidance to DDC and 3rd party colleagues as required.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and spoken English, with good written and spoken Spanish a distinct advantage
• Robust functional and development knowledge within FI, MM, SD
• 4 years + ABAP experience (classic [event based] and OO [Object Orientated]). Experience of ABAP coding on SAP HANA.
• Experience of using SAP QA tools including, but not limited to, Code Inspector, ABAP Test Cockpit, ATC and ABAP Call Monitor
• Experience with Solution Manager ChaRM
• Good to have: Experience in leading development team.
