Golden Acres Food Service Corporation is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Purchasing Assistant to support our Procurement Team. This role helps ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient purchasing of goods needed for smooth daily operations. About the Role


The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for preparing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, maintaining purchasing records, and supporting inventory requirements. This position plays an important role in ensuring that products and supplies are ordered on time, accurately documented, and aligned with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

  • Prepare and process purchase orders based on inventory and operational needs
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, order discrepancies, and pricing
  • Assist in verifying supplier invoices and facilitate timely payment processing

Inventory & Documentation

  • Reorder supplies as needed to maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Maintain organized purchasing documents such as POs, contracts, and invoices
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and accurate transaction records

Administrative Support

  • Schedule and coordinate procurement meetings and deadlines
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Procurement Team
  • Perform occasional fieldwork or external purchases when needed (supplier visits, sourcing items, etc.)


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (preferred)
  • Experience in food distribution or retail industry is an advantage
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of procurement systems is a plus
  • Understanding of purchasing principles and basic inventory management
