Role: Detailer

Work Arrangement: Work from Office

Location: Philippines - Ortigas

Schedule: Morning shift

Position: Steel/Precast Detailer

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of shop drawings from sketches and designs of Structural Engineering and Architectural documentation.
• All drawings shall meet prescribed standards, conditions, and quality assurance procedures, and be completed within allocated/agreed timeframes.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to:

• Project Manager
• Director – Detailing

Other roles reporting to same:

• Trainee Draftsperson
• Technical Staff

Authority

The Steel/Precast Detailer has the authority to carry out tasks in accordance with the responsibilities detailed within this Position Description and as per the direction of the Project Manager or Director.

Experience / Qualifications Evidence

Qualifications:

• Technical or associate degree in Drafting or Civil Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Relevant Experience (desirable):

• Steel Structures
• Commercial / Industrial Pre-cast
• Tilt Panel Constructions
• Multi-storey Apartments
• Setting out of concrete slab and steel plans/layouts
• Competent use of:
• Tekla Structures
• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Office
• Australian Standards
• Local Government Design Manuals
• Knowledge of Steel Detailing Standards

Other Skills

• Understanding of relevant Australian Standards, State and Local Government policies and guidelines
• Knowledge and application of Structural Engineering codes, construction standards, specs, procedures and construction techniques
• Time management skills
• C Class Driver’s License

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

• Compliance with the Company’s procedures, work instructions and goals

Qualifications and Requirements

2. Operations – High quality drawings for allocated Civil Engineering projects

Responsibilities:

• Prepare high quality detailed design, drawings and estimates for allocated Detailing and Structural Engineering projects in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant standards and the Quality Manual

Performance Measurement:

• Project KPI’s met or exceeded
• Develop work plan
• Controls in place and used to identify and correct deviations from plan

3. Finance – Managing the costs of operations

(Weighting: 10%)

Responsibilities:

• Expenses are appropriate to requirements of allocated budgets
• Work to minimise overruns on projects

4. Personal Development – Continual Professional Development

Responsibilities:

• Remain up to date with legislative changes and be aware of current and future issues which may affect Civil Engineering

Non-negotiable Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years drafting experience gained within a consultancy environment
• Strong project management skills
• Demonstrated experience in structural drawing of relevant projects including:
• Steel structures
• Precast elements
• Tilt panels
• Multi-storey residential or commercial buildings
