• Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and silverware.
• Clean kitchen equipment, appliances, floors, walls, and all work surfaces following hygiene and safety standards.
• Handle and dispose of kitchen waste and recycling properly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required by the chef (e.g., peeling, chopping).
• Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used and stored safely and correctly.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment or facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
• Follow all health and safety regulations (HACCP standards where applicable).
• Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries and supplies.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service hours as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a stewarding or kitchen helper role is an asset, but not required.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and hot kitchen environment.
• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
