JOB ROLE: IMPORT-EXPORT SPECIALIST (On-site)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an Import-Export Specialist with strong purchasing experience to manage international shipments, ensure compliance with trade regulations, and support procurement operations. This role requires excellent coordination skills, a deep understanding of global trade processes, and the ability to build efficient sourcing and logistics strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Import & Export Operations

• Oversee the end-to-end process of import and export activities, including documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Maintain updated knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs requirements.

Purchasing & Supplier Management

• Source suppliers both locally and internationally, obtain quotations, and negotiate for the best terms.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of goods and materials.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support supply chain efficiency.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all transactions comply with import-export regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
• Prepare and review all necessary shipping and purchasing documents (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.).
• Monitor and maintain records of all transactions for internal audits and external inspections.

Inventory & Cost Management

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Track landed costs and support accurate pricing by consolidating shipping, duties, and procurement data.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements in sourcing and logistics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with logistics, warehouse, accounting, and operations teams to ensure alignment across departments.
• Support process improvements to streamline purchasing and import-export workflows.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in import-export operations, with at least 2 years in purchasing or procurement.
• Strong understanding of customs regulations, Incoterms, and international shipping processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems or inventory management tools.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments and orders simultaneously.
• Experience in coordinating with international suppliers and freight partners is highly preferred.
