A high school diploma
Professional experience
Consult with clients to understand their hair care needs, preferences, desired styles or treatments.
Perform haircuts, trimming, coloring, highlighting, permanent waving / curling, straightening, and other styling services.
Provide hair and scalp treatments (e.g. deep conditioning, keratin treatment, and hair repair treatments) as needed.
Shampoo, blow-dry, iron, style hair according to client’s request and salon standards.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools, equipment, workstation, and salon environment.
Ensure proper use, preparation, and safekeeping of all hair dressing materials, tools, and supplies.
Stay updated on latest hair styles, coloring, trends, and techniques; continuously improve professional skills.
Advise clients on hair care products, after-treatment care, and maintenance to preserve style/health of hair.
Recommend additional services or upsell products when appropriate, maintaining client satisfaction.
Build and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat visits and referrals.
