JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for the overall supervision of the Accounting Department including the overseeing of daily transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivables, general ledger and bank reconciliations).
• Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and proper financial reporting to support business operations.
• Responsible for leading and mentoring the accounting team to ensure efficient performance and strong internal controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Accounting

• Oversee daily accounting activities including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor and validate the accuracy of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes related to logistics transactions (freight billing, cargo handling, customs payments, etc.)
• Review and ensure accuracy in billing clients and validating third-party charges (airlines, shipping lines, truckers).

Reporting & Financial Statements

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and external stakeholders.

Industry-Specific Transactions

• Supervise the reconciliation of freight costings, operational disbursements, and billing.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of demurrage, port charges, duties, taxes, and other logistics-related financial activities.
• Coordinate with operations and customer service to verify delivery documents and charges.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with BIR regulations, PEZA, and other local government requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Assist in external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Team Leadership & Support

• Supervise and guide accounting staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
• Provide training and coaching to ensure development and compliance with policies.
• Resolve issues and discrepancies raised by team members or other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred but not required
• Minimum 3-5 years proven experience in General Accounting - Accounting Payables, Receivables and Financial Statement as well as with standards and principles
• At least 1 - 2 years or more experience as an Accounting Supervisor/Manager
• Prior experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry preferred.
• Willing to work onsite at Parqal, Aseana City, Paranaque City
