The Role

To lead the transformation of our regional People Operations team in AMS, in line with the People Operations strategy and roadmap. A key component of the role is working closely with internal customers to develop an understanding of the People Operations issues within the business, and to lead in the development and delivery of solutions that address those needs.


The Senior Manager – People Operations will be responsible for leading regional People Operations teams through transformation, stabilisation and driving future state strategy.


What you’ll be doing:

LEADERSHIP

  • Responsible for delivery and rollout of training and development standards across People Operations.
  • Line manage Operations Managers and/or Team Leads. Have regular performance and career conversations to support their development.
  • Draw on extensive experience to coach team members on dealing with complex or strategic challenges.

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

  • Lead ad-hoc projects across Operations, roll out initiatives to address underperformance or inefficiencies across teams, initiate projects to respond to changing regulations, lead improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse performance drivers to identify and share opportunities for metric–led continuous improvement across teams and agree with Continuous Improvement Manager how best to achieve them - including tech enablement, improvements to standard processes and methodologies, sharing of best practice etc.

COMPLIANCE

  • Manage the scope, governance and compliance associated with all processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring team’s compliance to the AMS Risk Management Framework and Governance Framework, including the identification and management of risk.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation affecting area of work (e.g. data management techniques or similar local legislative requirements).

INNOVATION

  • Drive implementation of AMS-wide operations. Flag project opportunities to Head of People Operations and support prioritisation of operations in line with regional and AMS strategic objectives.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement plans in partnership with Continuous Improvement Manager


You’ll need to demonstrate:

Required:

  • Experience driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to build a position as a trusted advisor
  • Demonstrated innovative mindset - open to new ideas, encourages diversity of thought and lateral/creative thinking within team
  • Agile and resilient in response to change or uncertainty. Able to lead a team through significant change.
  • Experience analysing data with the use of metrics, benchmarks, productivity and forecasting techniques
  • Resilient under pressure - experience working to and achieving demanding targets and SLAs and working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience of developing and delivering end-to-end processes
  • Experience enhancing processes to improve outcomes
  • Demonstrable ability, and passion for people leadership, engagement and development. Able to manage, coach and develop other people managers
  • Experience of managing matrixed, remote teams
  • Proven ability to work in a highly complex matrix organization, managing large global teams with a mix of direct and indirect reports
  • Advanced analytical and logical reasoning skills; able to discern patterns within information and cut through complexity to diagnose the heart of a problem
  • Skilled at storytelling with data - presenting data-driven insights in a succinct and compelling manner
  • Demonstrable understanding of regional regulatory, compliance and risk implications of business decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

Desirable:

  • Prior experience leading business transformation programs - knowledge of lean and agile management, process re-engineering and change management
  • Experience in People Operations and / or Onboarding
  • Demonstrated capability to manage a Budget
