A great opportunity awaits PH accounting professionals at Carenet Health! We need an ACCOUNTING MANAGER to support our growing Finance Team in the Philippines!

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the overall accounting operations of the Philippines. This includes overseeing the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintaining a robust accounting system, and implementing a comprehensive set of internal controls to minimize financial risk. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable Philippine regulatory requirements.

Work Schedule: 9pm - 6am PH time ( night shift)

Work Set up: Hybrid ( 90 % remote, must be willing to report in Makati )

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with US Accounting Manager and staff to ensure that all PHL transactions/activity are accurately tracked, reported and recorded. Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Develop and evaluate financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Primary lead on PHL operations accounting functions including banking and governmental reporting.
  • Monitor timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management and all stakeholders.
  • Manage processes to ensure 13th month pay is accurately calculated and paid, and DOLE reporting is completed.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) taxes (e.g., VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax).
  • Oversee annual PTO cash conversion.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure accurate computation and timely release of payroll and statutory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR).
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, such as the Philippine Corporation Code and BIR regulations.
  • Create and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial operations.
  • Analyze and improve business processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA - strongly preferred
  • 5-10 years of accounting/finance experience - with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • PFRS (Philippine Financial Reporting Standards)
  • BIR regulations and filings
  • Payroll, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG compliance
  • Advance Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information effectively
  • Exceptional soft skills
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
