Extrusion Welding:

• Operate extrusion welding machines to fuse thermoplastic materials, creating durable seams and welds.
• Set up and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal temperature, pressure, and extrusion rates.
• Monitor the extrusion process for consistency, identifying and correcting issues such as irregular flows, poor bonding, or material defects.
• Inspect welded areas for imperfections and conduct necessary repairs or adjustments.

Hot Air Hand Welding:

• Use hot air hand welding tools to fuse plastic materials, ensuring precise control of temperature and air flow.
• Prepare the material and work surfaces by cleaning and preheating when necessary.
• Handle welding rods or filaments to ensure the proper material is applied for strong bonds.
• Continuously monitor the welding process to avoid overheating or under-heating.

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Inspect welded joints for strength, integrity, and appearance.
• Perform tests on welds to ensure that they meet industry standards and project specifications.
• Conduct visual and tactile inspections, testing for leaks, air pockets, or any weaknesses in the welds.
• Document quality checks and report any discrepancies or defects.

Material Handling and Preparation:

• Select and prepare the appropriate materials for each welding job, ensuring compatibility with welding equipment and project requirements.
• Cut, shape, or pre-heat materials as needed to achieve proper welding conditions.
• Maintain an organized inventory of welding rods, equipment, and materials.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment, ensuring tools are always in good working condition.
• Troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs when necessary.
• Report major equipment issues to the maintenance team or supervisor.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines when operating welding equipment and handling materials.
• Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including gloves, face shields, and protective clothing.
• Ensure that work areas are clean and safe, with proper ventilation to avoid inhalation of fumes.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to understand specific requirements and timelines.
• Communicate any challenges or issues that may affect the quality or timing of production.
• Provide feedback on material or equipment performance to improve the welding process.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in welding is preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in extrusion welding, hot air hand welding, or related fields.
• Skills:
• Ability to operate both extrusion and hot air hand welding machines.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Basic understanding of thermoplastics and their welding properties.
• Familiarity with safety standards in a welding or manufacturing environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions (heat, noise, etc.).

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing or production setting with potential exposure to high temperatures, fumes, and noise.
• PPE is required, including gloves, goggles, aprons, and hearing protection.
• Regular hours with potential for overtime based on production needs.
