- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes for inpatient and outpatient services using current coding systems.
- Ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Continuously update coding knowledge to remain current with industry standards.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Experience Level: 1–3 years of experience in medical coding
- Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems including ED, EM, OP, inpatient, and outpatient coding
- Qualities and Traits: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Skills and Competencies: CCS certification preferred
- Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in coding software and databases
